We have some users who put extenstions in the phone # field that all start with an "x". Is this tool able to assist in moving the "x" and anything following that to another field?

I would probably use the Edit In Excel feature to perform this update as this will give you access to formulas etc that you could use to update your data. It would also be possible to export the data to CSV and manipulate the data in another tool, then update using the CSV update feature.

Please read the known issues sections as these update methods can cause leading zeros to be truncated. There are workaround to the problem though described in the known issues sections.
