Hello,

I'm trying to get password control working in Server 2008 R2. Everything works execpt for the starting of the application. I want it to start when the account is logged into. I've been using the "Enviroment" Tab in AD to launch it during startup. It does not launch automaticlly, however it works when I manually click the icon.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Andrew

Hi,

I think the environment tab is for terminal services - have you tried to start other applications this way with any success?

I think there are a few options for getting programs to start when logging in. One option is to create a shortcut to the application in the startup folder. It should also be possible to use a logon script in group policy to launch the application.

Hope this helps,

David

Hello,

I know I can add it to the startup using a GPO or the startup shortcut but in 2003, if you used the environment tab, it will launch the application and hide everything else (startbar). Thats what I'm trying to replicate, without reinventing the wheel.

Thanks,
AW
